Costa Rica Trip
I went to Costa Rica during my spring break. I had a lot of fun there. This trip was my first time traveling outside the country and riding a plane. Take a look at these photos taken by me while I was there. I do have video footage, but it will be a while until I get that edited and published. Click the photo below to see the photos.

Costa Rica Movie: They are in order below. Total time: 26 min.
Trip Details:
Friday, April 3- We had to be at the RIC Airport at 5:00 AM. We were supposed to fly Delta airlines, but things got messed up. So we flew a Jet Blue plane to JFK Airport in New York. Later we got transportation to EWR Airport in Newark, New Jersey. From New Jersey, we flew first class on Continental Airlines to San José, Costa Rica. We stayed in the Irazú Hotel (Best Western).
Saturday, April 4- We traveled to a place called Tortuguero. As we were riding, we went through the Carrillo National Park. There were plenty of mountains to see there. Later as we were riding, we had to go to travel on a bumpy gravel road for an hour and a half. We saw fields of plantains. When we got to the boat dock, we got on the boat, and took about over an hour to get to Tortuguero on the river. When we got to Tortuguero, we stayed in the Pachira Lodge. It had a pool and a little waterfall. The rooms had no air condition, nor Television. I don’t know how I survived, but I did. We relaxed until the boat tour the next day.
Sunday, April 5- On this day, we traveled via boat for two tours through the rainforest. During the tour, we saw different species of birds, and monkeys. There was also the Jesus Christ Lizard (Basiliscus), fish, snakes, crocodiles, and many more. We later went to a town, where we walked toward the ocean. We stayed at the beach for a few minutes. The beach was the Atlantic Side of Costa Rica.
Monday, April 6- We left that morning to go to a town called La Fortuna. As we were riding on the bus, we took a break. While we had a break from riding, we saw lots of iguanas. One was eating a mango. It was very interesting to see. As we got closer to La Fortuna, we saw a volcano called Arenal. It’s a beautiful site, especially during the sunset. Later, we stayed in the Las Cabanitas Resort.
Tuesday, April 7- We woke up in the morning to go zip lining. It was my first time ever doing this. This was a great adventure. I had so much fun. Later that day, went to the La Fortuna Waterfall, where everyone can swim in. After that, we went to the hot springs to relax.
Wednesday, April 8- On this day, we traveled to Guanacaste coast, which is the Pacific side of Costa Rica. As we were traveling, we saw spider monkeys on the power line. When we got there, we could relax and go to the beach if we wanted. We stayed in the Condovac La Costa. It was the best place we have ever stayed in.
Thursday, April 9- This was a free day. We could do whatever. Some went snorkeling, but I didn’t. I watched the beautiful sunset in the evening.
Friday, April 10- This was the last day being in Costa Rica. We traveled back to San José to the Irazú Hotel. Before we got there, we went to a town called Sarchí. There, we went to a souvenir shop. While in Sarchí, we walked to see big ox-cart.
Saturday, April 11- This was the most saddest day of all, we had to say goodbye to our tour guide and bus driver. We headed to the San José airport. From there we went to ATL airport in Atlanta, Georgia. Then finally we went to RIC airport in Richmond and headed home.
Food: The food there is the best. The fruit was freshly grown. We mainly had pineapples, mangos, and bananas. A lot of the food was in buffet style. Some of the food we had was, eggs, rice and beans mixed, plantains, spaghetti/pasta, fish, chicken, and many different fruit drinks, and desserts.
If you have any questions about what I did while I was in Costa Rica, send a comment or e-mail me.
